WHAT THE JUDGES LIKED ABOUT YOUR STORY –

{2414}  Great job describing the song as it fully enveloped the crew’s minds. This is followed by strong imagery in the line “trading air for saltwater” and a nice analysis of the situation that checks off on the assigned action.

{2510}  Descent of Desire has a haunting tone that reminded me a little of the Titan sub. The piece had a musical element to it, that worked well with the prompt. The opening line does a great job of piquing the reader’s interest. The twist that the sirens found them, not the other way around, was well done, and added to a larger theme of nature “fighting back,” and wanting to be left alone.

{2205}  I really like how much of this story we can “hear.” It was a compelling illustration of a moment of horror of this crew, and the ending is very disquieting.
